About

McIntyre Logistics Inc can trace its humble beginnings all the way back to the 1950s when Grandpa McIntyre started selling his home grown produce to markets in Portland. This was an introduction to larger farmers who hauled their produce to market in straight trucks.

In 1952, Grandpa McIntyre started driving for Searles out of Michigan. He would run a route from Florida to Michigan to Maryland and back. Primarily hauling watermelons and other seasonal produce and canned meals from factories to distribution centers. As early as the mid-1950s Grandpa McIntyre would say “you live the way you do because of all the things a truck brings to you.” Today, bumper stickers in the industry state, “If you got it, then a truck brought it.”

For the last four years, I have been at the helm of the company. I started after I returned from my deployments with the US Marine Corp. I wanted to continue to honor my grandpa’s memory by continuing the company he started decades earlier.

In early 2018, we obtained our US DOT number and, not wanting to go straight into debt, leased onto a larger carrier that had the same ideology, values and commitment to customer service; one that could provide us with the support and resources that were not immediately available to a “new” company.

One of the earliest partnered-relationships we started was with a company, Stelle Corporation, that has provided us with a steady freight-base and equipment purchase options. With this relationship, and through our administrative services agreements (ASAs), we have access to accounting, legal, and safety services that most growing companies do not. This was the single best value-based business decision that I have ever made.

The current pandemic facing the country has shown us the value of trusted partnerships and the necessity of consolidated operations in order to remain in business. We found ways to reduce costs without sacrificing services.

In 2020, we obtained our own motor carrier operating authority; we continue to look forward to the future and maintain our business relationships that we have made along the way.

I look forward to continuing our growth and providing quality jobs to military veterans that come with an extremely competitive compensation
package. We are a designated military veteran owned small business (VOSB) and proudly hire veterans for all positions in the company.

No job is too big. No job is too hard. No job is too small. We approach all of our business endeavors with efficiency and cost effectiveness in mind.

We look forward to hearing from you and seeing how we can earn your business.
